Je  kunt  het  (lack of patriotism) ook simpel vervangen met; dat ´onze 
jongens en meisjes´ op
´vredesmissie´ gaan.

Wie zoekt daar dan enig kwaad achter, immers? 
Het ´(her)bevestigd´ zelfs dat we een ´nobel´ volkje zouden zijn!!

Kortom: we hebben onze hedendaagse variant.....
