Update Franse Burgeroorlog: Belgie brandt al vijf dagen gezellig mee

Ik wil niet zeuren: maar er zijn inmiddels alweer zo'n 750 persberichten
over het (daadwerkelijke) overslaan van de Franse rellen naar Belgie.
Uiteraard niet uit Belgie zelf, dat spreekt. Zie,

In Belgie zou het inmiddels al 5 dagen hommeles zijn. De broer van die
liberalistische hotemetoot Verhofstadt zou gezegd hebben dat,
   but the government said the attacks were isolated and could not be
   compared to the French riots.
...maar ze zijn er dus wel...

   Belgium was hit by more car-torchings overnight, the interior ministry
   said. Fifteen cars were burned in the cities of Antwerp, Lokeren,
   Mechelen, Ledeberg and Brussels, the ministry said today in an e-mail.
   The news agency Belga reported three Molotov cocktails were thrown in
   the Brussels region and three in the town of Trivieres, 48 kilometers
   (30 miles) from Brussels near the French border, without causing major
   damage.
   While officials say the car-torchings and fires in Belgium and Germany
   are isolated incidents that don't presage a spread of the French
   rioting, they shouldn't be ignored, said Mirjam Dittrich, an analyst
   at the European Policy Centre in Brussels. (...)
   German authorities reported yesterday that arsonists burned cars in
   Berlin and the western city of Cologne, the second time such incidents
   have occurred since Nov. 6. They were 'individual cases of vandalism,'
   according to Berlin police spokesman Frank Thiele. (...)
   Italian political leaders have drawn divergent lessons from the French
   rioting. 'We're no different from Paris,' opposition leader Romano
   Prodi said on Nov. 5. 'It's only a question of time. We have the worst
   suburbs in Europe. Our suburbs are a human tragedy.'

't Valt me overigens op dat de opstandelingen consequent worden aangeduid
als 'Arsonisten' - ik neem aan een gelegenheidswoord voor 'pyromanen' -
teneinde ze te demoniseren. Want uiteraard hebben de beleidsmakers geen
schuld. Die zijn slechtbegrepen slachtoffers van de media.

De gebruikelijke ontkenning van een serieus probleem.
