Van der Laan over Grondwet (2)

Ik wil niet zeuren, maar er is nog meer in een ander artikel in The
Independent van vandaag.

Daarin zegt Van der Laan:
   People have had to get used to so many different aspects of
   globalisation. Five years ago police didn't carry guns.

Teveel naar Baantjer gekeken, vermoed ik.

Volgend citaat:
   The "no" campaign in the Netherlands is deeply fragmented. Most
   opponents of the constitution come from the far left and argue that
   the document enshrines free-market values that undermine the European
   social model.

Onzin: de meeste voorstanders zitten links, de meeste tegenstanders
rechts. Sterker nog: daar gaat dit artikel zelfs over.

Erg bont maakt Van der laan het met...
   They may also protest over the introduction of the euro, which,
   because the guilder was undervalued, created inflation,
En dat was nu toch weer niet zo ? Of wel in het buitenland en niet in
Nederland ?

De schuldigen zijn gelukkig snel gevonden:
   I hold the politicians of the past to blame. You have to explain what
   you are doing and why. You can't just write a constitution - you have
   to sell it.

Voor de liefhebbers: de Jonge Democraten komen ook in het stuk voor.
