Homohuwelijk in Californie

Een rechter in San Francisco verklaarde gisteren het staatsverbod op het
homohuwelijk ongrondwettelijk. De eerste stap in de richting van het
homohuwelijk in Californie, met initiele dank aan Gavin Newsom, de
burgemeester van San Francisco die vorig jaar demonstratief de deuren
van het stadhuis opende voor huwelijksluitingen door homoparen.

Vandaag wat lachwekkende tegenargumenten in de Chronicle van FAmily
Value Marriage Defense organisaties, of hoe ze ook mogen heten:

"If everyone in the world would follow the same-sex pattern, then there
would be genocide,"

"Freedom doesn't mean freedom to do anything. If that happens, then
there is chaos."

De minder lachwekkende categorie:
"If this is unconstitutional, there is another constitution to answer
to, and that is the word of God,"

En jawel, ze hebben ook nog redelijke argumenten:
"People say that if people are in love they should be able to get
married. But what if they are brothers? Or a father and a daughter?"

Mijn antwoord: ja inderdaad, laat iedereen lekker zelf bepalen met wie,
waar, wanneer, hoe, voor hoelang en met hoevelen men wil trouwen.
