Bush comes to his budgetary senses

Statement of the week (ABC News):

Bush has demanded that lawmakers curb domestic spending in the face
of ballooning budget deficits, soaring military spending and a
persistently weak U.S. economy.

"I look forward to signing this legislation and to continuing a
course of fiscal discipline," he said in a statement released by the
White House after the Senate vote.
