The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine Committee 
to Conduct a Feasibility of Assessing Veteran Health Effects of 
Manhattan Project (1942-1947) Related Waste will hold an information 
gathering meeting on September 19, 2024 in Los Alamos, NM. This session 
will include presentations from experts in the area to describe 
potential sources and characteristics of data, records, and information 
on military veterans who participated in Manhattan Project activities at 
Los Alamos. No data will be collected or analyzed as part of this 
feasibility assessment, but this information will inform the committee's 
report and conclusion regarding whether a full epidemiologic study can 
be conducted as directed in PL 117-168 (PACT Act). Final agenda will be 
posted by September 16.
