Mattered</b></i> is a collection of essays by German-born
British economist <a

F. Schumacher">E. F. Schumacher</a>. The phrase "Small Is
Beautiful" came from a principle espoused by Schumacher's teacher

<p>First published in 1973, <i>Small Is Beautiful</i> brought
Schumacher's critiques of <a

economics</a> to a wider audience during the <a
href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1973_energy_crisis"
