Wordt het niet eens hoogtijd om dergelijke oproepen tot mishandelingen uitdrukkelijk strafbaar te stellen? Temeer ook omdat daarbij naar 'hogere' machten wordt verwezen waarvan het bestaan zeer twijfelachtig, danwel niet echt aantoonbaar is, en derhalve ook hier als sprake is van psychische mishandeling. Gek toch dat godslastering hier niet ingeroepen wordt voor een god - zo die al bestaat - en die hier misbruikt wordt. Christus zou gezegd hebben: "Laat de kinderen tot mij komen", maar kan daarbij toch niet het kastijden uit wellust op het oog hebben gehad?!! </div>

KATWIJK - Ouders moeten een tegendraads kind slaan en wie dat niet doet, gaat in tegen de wil van God. Die boodschap brengt de nieuwsbrief van de Hersteld Hervormde Kerk in Katwijk. Strafbaar, vinden organisaties van jeugdbeschermers. „Een vrijbrief voor het gebruik van geweld.”</p>

De zaak doet denken aan de rel rond de Amersfoortse predikant Goldschmeding. Die kreeg in 2009 problemen met justitie en jeugdzorg nadat hij in preken de ’corrigerende tik’ had verdedigd. In de Hervormde Nieuwsbrief gaat het echter over meer dan alleen een tik. De verhandeling van dominee A. Vlietstra volgt op een gelukswens aan een Katwijks echtpaar dat net hun vijfde kind heeft gekregen. Hij haalt teksten aan uit de zeventiende eeuw die ’beslist nog niet uit de tijd zijn’. Als een kind zondigt is ’kastijding’ (lichamelijke bestraffing of slaag) een noodzakelijk antwoord, houdt Vlietstra de gelovigen voor. Een ouder kind mag zwaarder worden gekastijd omdat dat meer kan verdragen. Kinderen die ’obstinaat’ zijn moeten zelfs ’scherp gekastijd’ worden. „Een zware misdaad en gruwel moet niet zacht worden bestraft.”</p>
