Since the middle of the 1970s, radio enthusiasts have been fascinated
and perplexed by an odd buzzing signal that keeps repeating on the
frequency of 4625 kHz. It has no known operator, no official name, and
no explicit goal. But because of its enduring sound, it has been dubbed
the 'Buzzer' or 'Russia’s Doomsday Radio' (UVB-76).
Now, as per RT, it has made a second cryptic broadcast as of September
8, Monday. The 1.04-minutes transcript from the shared video’s caption
by the outlet contains a list of Russian names (Nikolai, Zhenya,
Tatyana, Ivan, Olga, Elena, and Leonid), numbers (38, 965, 78, 58, 88,
37), and phrases like "soft sign," "five signs," and "reception." In the
tweet RT claimed it has coded words like ‘NZHTI’ and ‘HOTEL.’

When the United States hit nuclear sites in Iran in June, it was last
active. The mysterious messages broadcast by the UVB-76 radio station
were PANIROVKA, KLINOK, and BOBINA.
The "doomsday radio station" had previously gone on the air in May and
June, when it began transmitting cryptic messages during Putin's phone
conversation with US President Trump.
What is UVB-76?
Since the 1970s, UVB-76, also known as "The Buzzer," has operated as a
Russian shortwave radio station operating at 4625 kHz. Independent news
website Meduza claims that the UVB-76 radio station is a numbers station
run by the Russian military. The radio station mostly gets active during
a war or a crisis. The tone prevents jamming; messages are read in
Russian, possibly commands or tests.
According to Metro UK, the radio station initially started to broadcast
the apparent code ‘NZhTI 89905 BLEFOPUF 4097 5573’ ahead of the White
House call in May 2025. Later it followed up with ‘NZhTI 01263 BOLTANKA
4430 9529.’
