stond tot eergisteren (geen grap, het is echt zo),
    Sea Ice Index processing is currently having problems.
    Daily values after February 19 are erroneous. NSIDC is
    investigating the issue and will correct it as soon as
    possible.
Kortom: De recente data kloppen niet !

Sinds gisteren doet deze officiele site van de status van het
poolijs het weer,

en blijkt het Noordpoolijs dit jaar iets groter te zijn (en dat
van de Zuidpool is zowaar kleiner).

Maar hierbij blijft het niet: Op 20 maart zal het Noordpoolijs
op haar grootst zijn en dat van de Zuidpool nog iets meer zijn
afgesmolten. Deze kaartjes komen dan in de bovenstaande URL te
staan als lentekaartjes.
