The editors gave Malalai this "honour" but then used it to belittle her
anti-war views and promote the neoconservative Ayaan Hirshi Ali (author
of 'Infidel' and employee of American Enterprise Institute). Adding
comments on the TIME mag piece is encouraged... -Derrick

This week, TIME magazine named Malalai Joya to the 2010 TIME 100, the
magazine’s annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
Joya has become renown around the world as a courageous advocate of
women’s rights and a fierce critic of the NATO war in Afghanistan.

Unfortunately, the write up about Joya in TIME was objectionable.
Malalai Joya's Defense Committee has written a letter to TIME magazine,
which you can read in this short piece I've written about the matter:
