Apophenia is the experience of seeing patterns or connections in
random or meaningless data. The term was coined in 1958 by Klaus
Conrad,[1] who defined it as the "unmotivated seeing of connections"
accompanied by a "specific experience of an abnormal meaningfulness".

Hermophenia is the experience of seeing hermetic meanings related to
esotericism in commercials, films and other visual media. The term was
coined in 2010 by Antid Oto, who defined it as the "delusional seeing
of deliberately implanted hermetic meanings" accompanied by a
"rejection of esoteric knowledge in general".
