'Stunning' TweetDeck for iPhone goes beta
Chris Keall | Wednesday June 17 2009 - 03:10pm

The popular Twitter interface for Windows and Mac has gone mobile today.

A beta version of TweetDeck for iPhone is now available as a free AppStore
download.

Like the desktop version, it offers extras like direct integration with
Twitpic and TinyURL, among other services, and makes it easy to reply (or
monitor replies, in their own view), re-tweet, arrange your friends into
groups or save searches.

As in the desktop version, categories like All Friends, Replies, Direct
Messages and Groups can be given their own column on one TweetDeck
console.

Earlier user reviews - tweeted, naturally - are mostly glowing.

Users like the ability for real-time syncing with their desktop account,
and the ability to refresh by simply shaking their iPhone.

The main downside identified so far is that TweetDeck for iPhone doesn't
support landscape mode.

TweetDeck has also updated its desktop client today, adding direct support
for Qik video, support for "RE" - for referencing another Twitter user and
now displays local as well as global Twitter trends.

Mashable calls the mobile upgrade "stunning". Check out its review here.
