Explosions reported on London transport

Emergency services were called to three London underground railway stations
and a bus after incidents at midday, Police said on Thursday.

Scotland Yard said emergency services were responding to reports of incidents
at three locations on the underground -- Oval, Warren Street and Shepherd’s
Bush. The stations were evacuated and there were reports that buildings
around Oval station were cleared.

Police said there was also an explosion on a bus in East London at the
junction of Hackney Road and Columbia Road

The London ambulance service said at 13.45 that there were no fatalities at
the underground scenes. The British Transport Police said injuries were
'limited' at this stage.

Eye witnesses at Warren Street station said they saw smoke coming from a
train. Another said he witnessed a minor explosion in a rucksack belonging to
a passenger onboard a train. Transport police told journalists there was a
'suspect package' on the Victoria line at the station.

At 13.30pm dozens of police vehicles, fire engines, and other emergency
vehicles surrounded Warren Street station, where streets were cordoned off.

The incidents followed shortly after the end of a memorial service for
victims of the July 7 blasts in Tavistock Square.

It is two weeks to the day since bombs kiled 56 and injured 700 in central
London. British transport police said the incidents were 'ongoing'.
