What the hell happened in Fallujah?

Dit is het gezicht van oorlog. Oorlog is puur kwaad, en sleept alle
deelnemers mee in dat kwaad. Oorloghitsers (die "war on [vul maar in]"
of de een of andere jihad uitroepen) hebben veel te verantwoorden.

En de kluwen van misdaden is niet te ontwarren, alles gaat terug in de
tijd, denk als voorbeeld ook aan het conflict Israel-Palestijnen. Er is
nauwelijks een uitweg te verzinnen, anders dan definitieve winst van een
der strijdende partijen.

Een van de middelen in elke oorlog is ook propaganda, en ook Nederland
is hier doelwit, en de gevolgen voor de berichtgeving hier zijn
zichtbaar. Afhankelijk van welke kant je wilt uitkijken zijn er
onvergeeflijke misdaden van de 'andere' partij te constateren.

Ik neig er dan toe om de machtigste partijen (de VS resp Israel) de
meeste schuld toe te kennen. Ik zou als Amerikaan of Israelier ook
walgen van mijn medeburgers die de foute mensen aan de macht hielpen.

Maar wat de terroristen in Irak bezielt om daar oorlog te voeren tegen
de VS ten koste van hun eigen land en landgenoten, ik bevat het niet.
